Exporting obesity: US farm and trade policy and the transformation of the Mexican consumer food environment, written by several members of The Institute for Agriculture and Trade, is another primary source concerning obesity in Mexico. This source also possesses data regarding the U.S.’s and Mexico’s imports and exports, which was particularly useful. This data was utilized to illustrate Mexico’s dependency upon U.S. exports, as well as to reveal the types of foods being exported. These foods were typically processed, as seen below, and were not beneficial to Mexico’s health.
